Now that all the downtown shoe shiner and repair guys are out of business post-Covid. Does anyone have a recommendation for a shoe cobbler who can service/re-sole dress shoes? There are lots of sneaker guys who say they can work on dress shoes but I’ve been disappointed with them every single time.

You can get shoe shining at spa di la fronza under hyatt regency; not repair though

What about Beehive Shoeworks at like Wells and Madison? They do solid solid work, feels very old school but I’ve trusted them w high end shoes (Berluti etc) and they do a wonderful job.

Beehive is the answer

There's a guy near the Southport brown line stop. I forgot the name of the shop, but it's on Southport. Literally a block or two from the station!

For folks that are in the interview process, are u negotiating for best salary or just taking what you get , asking because market is slow cause of Covid.

Can you name a firm (preferably NY office) that lets its associates work from a different country with no issues? The mid-size firm I’m currently at has been very flexible during covid but I’m looking to change firm (biglaw). Since my family is abroad I find it extremely valuable to be able to do this (I did this even before covid for a couple of weeks, twice a year). I’ve heard firms like Latham and Paul Weiss don’t allow it for tax reasons.
