Now that it is a new year and most firms handed out bonuses already, salary/commission check:

I’ll go first:
- Midwest area (not Chicago)
- 7 YOE as attorney, 3 years at the firm
- $100k base (no raise in 3 years)
- $100k bonus end of 2023

Not sure if this is plaintiff only, but 7 YOE in a high COL area doing in-house ID for a carrier. $162k base, $53k bonus.

Good for you! I’d take this base all day over a higher bonus structure. More in my pocket throughout the year and better tax structure.

Southern California (not in a big city) about an hour north of San Diego
3 YOE at the same firm
135k base about 7k bonus
Should be getting about 7k raise this year
No billable hour requirement, just suggestion given that a lot of my job is driving to court, litigation and then overseeing paralegals and their work in the afternoon
3 weeks PTO (vacation and sick time)
Downside, it’s primarily family law litigation…

$100k bonus??? I’ve never seen a bonus that high before that matches the salary. How are they calculating and determining bonuses at your firm

It is a plaintiff firm. No idea how they calculate it though. I’ve asked and it sounds subjective, i.e., how well the firm does and how well I do for the firm. Most plaintiffs firms tell you at least % per case you get but mine doesn’t.

What you got a bonus that was as much as your entire years salary? That is insane to me but also good for you OP. I will say I would hate to work for a place that hadn't given me a raise in three years but that bonus sounds really nice.
