I got an offer from another company. Currently working in walmart. The main idea behind getting an offer is to ask for a salary rise. I was very much underpaid here. So I thought getting an offer will help increase my pay here in walmart by getting counter offer from them. But i am not sure if I discuss with my manager it will backfire me.Walmart

Received an offer as Engagement Director from Salesforce (CSG, pre sales, L9). Great benefits package, 40% increase in total comp and better WLB.
I do love the people in my practice and current client, but career trajectory has stalled after taking parental leave earlier this year and (yet another) change in leadership.
Realistically, making to Director is 2-3 years away and will require sacrificing time with my family that I am not prepared to give up.
Should I stay or should I go?

Sounds like you’d be happier in 1. If you’re happier you will progress faster.
I would go for option 2 and reasons why:
1) you are working with your mentor and have a supporter - not many people get that opportunity
2) this role at $300k can turn to $400-500k in 2-3 years or less within the current firm or another firm
3) working remote 100% will impact your career growth
4) I don’t see 100% remote work go beyond the next 12 months. Perhaps some hybrid option, but let’s see. I have heard clients and companies in NYC want people back in the office at least 3 days a week.
End of day is what you want. If you want balance and work remote you go for option 1. If you want to grow and excel in your career then option 2.
Freakin baby boomers should just retire. Remote work is the future.

Heard of the “toss the coin” test? Remember it’s what you wish for when the coin is in the air
I would definitely take the remote job. $300k in NYC isnt that good, and you hate the work, the industry, and the city. I disagree with the thought process of not being able to grow your career from 100% remote work. Plenty of people have grown their careers over the last year.

Lol $300K anywhere is very good money.
A large salary can sometimes blind us or make us see unclearly in a situation like this: lets be clear: making $210k, with the ability to live anywhere, and the benefit of seeing your family everyday WHILE avoiding the intricacies, logistics, and stress of living in NYC (did it, overrated) is a wonderful opportunity and better for your overall mental health.
#1 definitely for me. Stay in touch with mentor.

Fully remote US or anywhere?
Seems like th NYC role has better long term up side
If your goal is to live somewhere with super low cost of living and is aligned with your goals will come out ahead over NYC. You just need some deep soul searching and a pros cons list to help sort out what you really want/prioritize.

Offer #1 and move to Texas
As a Texan, only move here if you don’t mind extended power outages twice a year since that’s apparently now normal for us.
offer 1 easy
The 300K comp factors is a HCOL. It’s not only about what you make, it’s what you’re able to save as well.
Age yoe? Congratulations
Offer 1: work life balance, more time with your family, and industry you love
Offer 2: accelerated growth and comp
Tough decision! Depends on what you value more at the moment
Offer 1. Stay in touch with mentor (leaving doesn’t mean losing the relationships, it means learning to leverage them.)
Option 1 no doubt; at times money isn’t everything. Happiness and enjoyment is muc more worthy especially if you are sitting at 200k you should fine
It would be #1 for me. I think you have to take all information and make the best decision for yourself. Everyone weights these bits different. Some care more about comp, some care more about flexibility, family time, location, you name it. Sounds like you have 2 great choices, but you did have something negative to say about #2
Never leave that amount of money on the table unless you come from generational wealth, or have a safety net. After you’ve been at the 300k job for a few months 1 year start looking for your exit and get on par with the 300k salary.

Offer 1: healthcare/retail
Offer 2: insurance (p&c, life & retirement, etc.)
Offer 1 - choose personal happiness and daily joy. Work to live not live to work.
Take offer 2. Easy to eventually move/be remote once you prove yourself. Not easy to find/get everything else you like about #2. Also easy to find #1, especially if moving from NYC while retaining the job becomes a challenege.
Congrats on two great offers.
