Yes. Definitely. I feel like this is one of the only careers where that is the case.
For better or worse it remains extremely important.
Do you ever look up a partner's profile and look at their school? Have you ever made some judgment about them based on that? How about a judge? Or opposing counsel? Or a politician? It is always part of your identity, and people will note it, whether it effects any decision they make or not.
Bingo. I look every. single. time. It’s like asking if race matters, it shouldn’t, but it does. People make snap decisions and it’s on you to change their perception.
Yes. Even if you overcome your school, it's still always associated with you. And the school to name would be yale, not harvard.

It depends on your desired career path. A local well respected law school will likely not affect you making partner at a large regional firm, state court judgeship, attorney general, or senior Management at a corporation, but you'll find it next to impossible to become a US Supreme Court /Court of Appeals Justice, make partner at an elite big law firm, become a chief legal officer, or president.

It does. I’m a junior who just got laid off and my school very much matters to firms I’m applying to and for networking purposes.
Yes. I graduated 10 years ago and my law school still opens doors not available to coworkers who went to lower ranked schools. Just the way it is in this profession.
As it relates to recruiting, once you make partner the importance of that diminishes greatly. The portable book of business far outweighs the law school.
