SC’s are replaceable, so your leverage won’t work
stay and enjoy the ride! not worth it to piss people off for a little bit more money
I wouldnt do it. Better to take the promotion and then decide if you want to switch. Last think you want is to be a staff 2 years from now at 2 different firms rather than a senior with the same firm
^There’s nothing like loyalty in the corporate world, you work you get paid simple. Will the company be loyal & not fire you when they go in loss.
Take what you get today, don’t expect much from current employer, hopes may crash & it’s all future .
At S.C. level very low probability that your company would try to match unless you are super critical to a current project.
Bird in hand always!
Lol at “leverage”. We are such consultants lol
the offer to make sure I get a better pay bump with promotion this performance year... don’t really feel like moving to the other company either.
Better to start this convo w/ HR?
K thanks, this is helpful.
I wouldn’t try to leverage at all. Get promoted, do a year or two then consider your options.
C1, I disagree. OP can join the new firm with a better compensation & work hard for promotion .
At that level I would let you walk for suggesting it. If you're not loyal that early in your career you're not worth investing in
With less than a year you will come off as arrogant. The C and SC level is very replaceable
What company do you work for now OP?
