You could make an ad lob of the slogan you created and then follow the ad lob with the video to show how the slogan looks with context.
Just make sure in the description you speak to your role and how your team worked across offices to develop the work.
Chief
Does it plus what you have already in your book for the project? Or is it just ‘more.’ If it rounds it out, I see it as teamwork and go for it.
It does. The video has famous celebs. But, i dont know, i think i answered my own question while posting this. Dont feel comfortable. It’d be petty having to write my role “didnt do shit except the slogan… but hey… celebs, amirite?”
I think you answered your own question when you answered your own comment. Yo wrote the slogan and created work for the campaign you should put the things you created in your book. If another partner agency that you did not direct/manage or collaborate with as part of the team takes the assets and creates their own work specific for a different media or platform, it’s not an idea or execution you created. I’d find it misleading.
Did you write the spot? Doesn’t sound like it. Remember, the client owns the work we do, not you.
This seems really immature and I’d expect this from a junior writer, not a senior one.
This is the first time sharing campaigns with another agency.
By the way - what does the client owning the work have to do with adding it on the portfolio?
I think you should be able to at least have some byline that proves you were a part of this process
Yikes. That’s pathetic.
As a strat who isn’t well acquainted with these types of dilemmas, it sounds like you should go for it if you think it makes your book look better
Wow, Copywriter 1 is coming in reeeeeal insecure- do you only get to do down-the-line work and think you deserve 100% of the credit?
You totally should, what can someone say. It’s not like you didn’t write the slogan and KV ya know!?
