Forget about SJ... awful location, except maybe if you are married with kids good job house dog etc...I am in LA moved from NY. Love it here. SD is pretty and laid back but not metropolitan enough for me.
Gross, really? How? I live in one and def not gross. Cleanest/biggest/brightest units I’ve seen between living in london, paris and new york where I would pay 10 times the price for what I have. To each their own I suppose.
I second San Diego. There’s barely any public transit in LA.. every errand takes 2 hours 🤣. The hiking is pretty good, but it’ll take a while to get to the cool spots if you live by the beach. There’s no shortage of things to do in LA, but, as you can tell, my main gripe is that everything is so spread out
San Jose is SO BORING. Was on a project there and it was ass. Los Angeles 100000%
Me at LAX: stupid, me stuck in traffic in lax downtown:dick move, me at beaches around LAX. gawd wish I was in SAN
San Diego
Moved to San Diego from Boston too. Best choice ever
LA 100%
I’m in San Jose rn and ACN 2 is right, it’s ass. If you want to be in a tech city or don’t want the car/traffic life there’s also SF
I’d go to SEA in a heartbeat. But between LA and San Jose, LA wins hands down. I have lived in LA and on the peninsula.
So, OP....ummm.... come here often?
long beach, hands down! super funky town, totally different from LA but still easy access to Hollywood clubs and LAX. let me know if you want more info!
Ktown here, love it
Also been considering moving to SD from the east coast, but the thought of west to east travel sounds pretty grueling, as well as having to be up at 5am for 8am ET conference calls. Anyone have any thoughts/experience on this?
VP - i am curious how your client base wont be shifting to WC if you move in order to further develop the market. Are you in consulting? Otherwise, agree with P1
I lived in the Bay Area then moved to LA last year. For your circumstances I’d recommend LA. Santa Monica, West Hollywood, maybe Culver City are where you hip youngsters will want to hang out. I live in Pasadena which is a little more suburban but closer to hiking, has a nice neighborhood vibe etc.
LA! I also moved from east coast. Spent a lot of time in San Jose due to tech clients and agree it is super boring. Everything closes pretty early
San Diego is very nice but I think it’s too small. I think LA will be more fun for someone who’s single.
Also considering Seattle but I am not sure how easy the travel is going to be if my clients are in south-central region
Not true. Seattle is beautiful
san diego or bust
San Jose is terrible and costs so much for a horrible life style. LA for sure but where on the East Coast are you and why are you leaving ?
I lived in Northern Virginia for two years and totally get what you are saying. Come west!
Thank you all!! This is very helpful :)
