Great post! Did chat gpt write it?
Great comment! Very insightful.

Man, you’re a junior and you’re already looking for something to do your work for you.
Everything I’ve seen from ChatGPT is intern/junior level at best. It’s a glorified thesaurus
proper copywriting should make a point, too.......
Tell us you don’t know what good writing is without telling us.
Seriously. Leave your writing to chat gpt.
Show us an example of its "scary good" writing.
It’s total shit. It can write ads if you’re writing infomercials but anything remotely conceptual, has any dialog, or is meant to be even the slightest bit funny is complete trash.
And it will never be funny because it’s not a human.

It can’t even write one decent tagline but it’s great at creating word salads that people who can’t write think is good writing.

Perplexity is also a good one.
I’m in finance and it writes fantastic for my needs. lol.
I was doing a tagline writing exercise that was seemingly never ending. Four rounds in, I decided to give it a shot using five of my best selects as a reference.
It gave me some comfortingly awful results back.
I had a senior creative walk me through how he uses it earlier and was honestly surprised by how not terrible it is.
He likened it to having a junior team working under you where 90% of the ideas are garbage, but a small amount turn into something usable... but it's coming back to you with ideas in seconds instead of days. It's obviously not putting out amazing taglines, but I was impressed by how broadly it can write even for relatively niche topics.
The next decade or so is gonna be really spooky.

You all act like every ad is being submitted for a Cannes Grand Prix. Most advertising - the stuff that actually runs - is middling to bad in quality. The threat from AI isn't that it's going to steal your award winning work, it's that it's going to steal the crappy work that actually keeps the lights on at most agencies. Do you think Mattress Firm or Stop and Shop care if their creative isn't amazing?
I find the best use for me is come up with a concept with my human brain, write it as a summary including lines of dialogue and some direction of how I want the beats to go, then paste it in and ask it to make it a polished script. Lots of editing afterwords but not bad at actually formatting it with stage directions and such that I was looking for. Saves some time for sure. But don't ask it to do the concepting part because you'll just get what already exists.
