Please help, I’m currently working for a startup that was unable to raise its Series B and has started downsizing its staff. I’ve been here only 3 months and I’m afraid the company doesn’t have enough runway considering the macro environment. I want to jump ship but I’m afraid I may be seen as a job hopper, context below:
Job 1: 1 year
Job 2: 5 months (received an admit from my Target school)
Job 3: 1 year, 10 months
Job 4 (current): 3 months
The news of layoffs is scaring me.

Any thoughts around how to use M&A tax skills for the better good? I’m a CPA and originally got into this for a stable / interesting job, but in the long-term I’d like to do something that either influences drafting of tax legislation or helps the public (however naive that may sound). Perhaps I’ve gotten too introspective during the pandemic. Don’t really want to go back for a JD and aside from keeping a roof over my head I’m not very motivated by money. Anyone else have similar ideas?

I’m not talking about general cluelessness which is completely expected and understandable, but turning in work product riddled with incomprehensible, grammatically incorrect sentences that would fail middle school English. I got a covid drive thru test in July and now the medical provider sent me a $700 bill for that and my Uhc insurance has rejected this.
