Posting for my husband who does not have fishbowl. He received a full time MBA offer to join Accenture consulting. However, offer letter does not state a start date/month. Is this normal? Recruiter is still researching a timeframe for him. I thought start times should be pre-determined for MBAs. Granted he is graduating in December. Any insights at Accenture for MBA hiring process is greatly appreciated!! Do they expect ppl to sign without a clear idea when they are starting?

Based on full-time MBA offers that I’ve seen for Accenture and other firms, this is normal

The firm usually does let you know, however, when they usually have their new hires start (i.e. have cohorts join in July, August, September, etc)

You can usually select your preference for how early you want to start (within the firm’s usual new joiner onboarding period)

Thanks! That’s reassuring. I was just paranoid that the lack of pre-determined date indicates risk of delaying if the bench gets too deep.

In my experience, and at my firm, we always agree on date when sending out offer letters.

My wife was in campus recruiting for ACN this sounds very par for the course. They first accept candidates then have internal process where they determine where the candidates get placed role/location/comp. I assume it’s the same for MBA grads.

like

Normal for all Accenture offers, work with the recruiter/onboarding POC to firm up his start date

Thanks! I didn’t go through the MBA recruiting route so I didn’t know that’s the norm.

One of my direct reports has asked about going part time. They currently manage special reports in a bi-weekly publication, working closely with sales, freelance writers, and an internal designer. Job duties are primarily project management and editing/proofreading. As the first read on articles, they need to have an understanding of the material (business/regulation). Has anyone had experience with job sharing in this type of a role?

I almost got out of Pharma... A CD from a Consumer agency doing solid work reached out, and I was so excited thinking I could finally do the kind of work I love. Then they told me they will fill the position with a current employee. I played it cool, but I can’t deny I felt frustrated. I don’t wanna do healthcare, but it seems like it’s the only thing available in NYC nowadays. I also don’t have many connections in this city. So, IF you need an ACD/Art (full-time or FL-to-perm), let’s chat! 🙌🏻

Question about remote job negotiations

I'm currently interviewing for a remote role for a company based in NY.

The thing is I'm based in a different city (southern U.S.)

My question is:

When it comes time to talk compensation, should I base the market rate for the role on my city of residence or NY?

Would it make sense to ask them directly how they determine comp for NY-bases vs. other city-based employees?

Anyone have experience with this?

Hi, received an offer from another Big4 in Amsterdam (currently working in Eastern Europe), but relocating, I’m concerned about potential layoffs in the coming period being the last to join the team.

I've my own thoughts about the following topic but I want to hear what everyone has to say.

The question is: do you need to be a competent software engineer/developer in order to be a good solutions engineer/architect?
