Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

That’s a loooot of alcohol
1 in 10 Americans over the age of 18 consume 74 drinks a week on average? How are they still alive? Those are some crazy numbers even for college kids.
Stop drinking. At least limit it to the weekends. Depending on what you’re drinking (straight liquor, wine or mixed drink) that can be about 600 calories a day. (1 pound is 3500 calories so cut off alcohol and you’ll lose weight)
- go on a 30 min walk at lunch
- get a personal trainer for after work
Pro
This - will add to get professional coach
I use Fittr - they’re an Indian company and amazing - also extremely cheap
Honestly I had the same and I just cold turkey’d drinking. Stick with water (I know boring) but now I only drink when I go out
Water
drink lots of water, and try walking more less sedentary habits. Eventually it'll curb itself out if you do it this way. :)
Check out Noom to eat better. Take calls while walking around the block or get a treadmill with a desk to take calls while walking. I lost 15 lbs during covid doing that
Cut out dairy and meat for 14 days and see how you feel. Continue if you feel like you have more energy. Or cut out dairy and meat M-TH
If you can’t get a dog, sign up for wag / rover and do a few dog walks per week to keep yourself accountable to go outside and also get a few bucks! It may be hard to start with 0 reviews, but if you live in an apartment building, maybe post your availability where they post building announcements
Get all of the alcohol out of your place
Yes! Own your your life! Wake up at 6 and get your butt out of bed and go for a walk and move! Discipline is a needed principle!

Purchase a small treadmill that fits under your desk and walk some miles while you work from home :)
It’s all calories in - calories out (calculate metabolic rate per day + exercise - caloric intake)
When I needed to lose weight it was quite easy - I just ate less to a deficit of roughly 500 calories per day. Drink a ton of water and exercise daily. Just gotta be diligent about it

Agree with both.
What is often overlooked and not well understood are the differences caused by genetics and uncontrollable health conditions.
I'm very athletic and more knowledgeable than most in kinesiology, biology, chemistry, nutrition, and training methods. While the cals in vs cals out calculation is indisputable, individual responses to calorie restriction vary WIDELY.
I've worked with people who are completely unresponsive to caffeine. I've worked with people who were unable to gain weight regardless of diet until they changed their supplement stack.
I've met too many athletes and fitness enthusiasts who think they owe all their success to just hard work, but for MANY people it's just not that simple. The amount of grit it requires for one person to restrict 500 cals could be very different for another person. The physical toll it takes, side effects encountered, and psychological impact varies. Some people experience very deep depression when calorie restricted. Some people come alive.
We're not born equal and we should stop pretending hard work levels everything.
I've heard so many comments with 'Stop drinking'. Not helpful. Find a companion and a reason to step out of work. It can be a dog, tracking steps, a walk with a neighbor or a friend.
But do something - I know somebody who had a stroke because he couldn't handle the pandemic WFH situation. Get out and get help.

D7: A peg of whiskey is only 60-70 calories. Pair a couple with some nice roasted chicken / fish and it makes for a great evening meal. Please don’t call it poisonous. It hurts. Thanks.
