Ours is usually at a museum. Open bar, but other than having the exhibits open there’s no other activities other than dinner (which isn’t seated). So it’s really boring

like

Where was it? Open bar or tickets?
Ours was at Park Tavern and we only got 2 tickets for beer or wine.

Open bar. Fairmont in ATL. But I’m looking at other company parties and the venue / activities were a lot better (Porsche experience center, Ponce, aquarium)

like

Ours was at the Roxy- was fun but nothing wild

Boring. Last year they had casino card table games and that was fun! I hope they bring it back next year. I could at least stick around longer without standing awkwardly holding a drink. Plus, no forced conversations if I'm playing a game.

For experienced Deloitte professionals considering a transition to industry, a fast-growing biotech company near San Francisco is hiring for a SOX Compliance Manager and Senior Accountant/Manager roles.

My wife is in sales at Mercedes and she has been averaging $200k a year and growing YoY. She loves her job, however she works long days and barely gets time off. We plan on having kids within the next year or two, and it’s highly u likely that she’ll be able to keep her current gig. We want to find a career that allows her to work remote or that at least gives her a better work life balance so that she can see her kids grow up. Should she get certifications to give her a shot at adtech?Too late?

Hi All,
It’s been a week since I last heard from pwc in regards to my interview. I gave them my availability for next week but I’m on holiday and few of the days won’t be at home. Shall I follow up with recruiter and make them aware that I’m still waiting for something to be scheduled. Really don’t want to keep waiting…

Holiday Season - at my former company, around this time of year I would have already gotten a ton of gift baskets etc. - not something I would ever take home but open up for the team and leave out. Started somewhere new last November, have dealt with multiple firms in various regions of the last year, many of which have billed several $100ks, have yet to receive anything. Are firms no longer doing this post COVID?

I was in the office (pre-c19) on the Friday after thanksgiving so I could get some stuff done while it was empty. A peer Director was also there and asked me for help with something. I helped him a for while, then he said, “this is really helpful, I have to go to an all team meeting for 30 minutes, but could we finish after that?” Me: “an all team meeting today?” Him: “yeah, I always schedule an all team meeting on days like this so people can’t pretend to wfh when they are really on pto.” smh 🤦‍♂️

Moving from T2 to McKinsey. How do vacation requests work? I have family and friends getting married this fall in weddings delayed because of covid, but I’ll just have started so wanted to get a sense of how realistic taking vacation this fall would be and how to approach taking it (e.g. mention to HR, staffing). TIA!

DO YOU JUST ASSUME THE COST OF YOUR MARKETING ACTIVITIES? I am looking to allocate their cost in the marketing budget in a way that won't rely on several layers of assumptions. How do you reliably estimate the cost of different marketing activities (email, social, web, etc) when you don't have specific people or tools allocated to each function and costs are spread across many channels? Ads seems the easiest, but even then there's time and overheads... I've been looking for a reliable model.
