Hi Fishies,
Looking for any reviews/suggestions regarding Pubmatic. Most important is the tech stack and learning aspects.
Big data technologies(Scala-Spark etc) and Java.
Also in discussion with Impetus and Autodesk (via third party i.e. Applicantz).
CTC is not a concern right now as what they are offering is enough for me right now.
Any suggestions would be helpful

I love pharma. It’s the agency life that’s the problem.
seriously everything that is wrong with this business is just as wrong with the trad advertising brands. and those brands pay less and are even more disrupted by influencer advertising.
It was for people who take it seriously. I would say for creatives though it’s always been regarded as “lesser than”. But for account and strategy, yes it was taken as a good and legitimate career path
I started at an Omnicom agency then went to an independent rare disease focused agency. The creative director also pushed provocative strategic work that also aligned with business client needs. I had a great experience and found it so fulfilling because the bar was high where it needed to be, gave me a chance to wear many hats which has brought me tremendous value today, and work on really meaningful treatments. I’m freelancing now and I see clearly why big hold cos are not meaningful.
WT or PM?
once in a while you get something good through. for me, the money was the reward.
How has it gotten worse?
Tighter deadlines, more projects happening simultaneously, faster turnarounds, more complicated technology with more metrics, more/fragmented media options, fewer uncharted creative territories, more day-to-day communication channels and distractions, more pressure, shrinking product differentiation, shrinking rep access, more FDA rules and regs, AI competition, increasing customer skepticism… the list is long.
I remember the days when making a website or an iPad sales preso was pretty big undertaking. Now, it’s bare minimum table stakes.
I freelanced steadily from 2010-2018 at various NYC agencies and was turning down healthcare fl gigs. It was a great time back then! Now? Notsomuch.
I’ve been noticing since 2022 it’s been getting worse. The few indie shops have been acquired and now the holding companies have the talent by the balls.
