I'm right there with you man but you gotta stick it out for the manager title, otherwise it's a lot of BS analyst and team lead positions - you want to run a department?? Manager or bust.
Depends on so many factors... size of company you are trying to land at, your area of expertise, who you know. Startups hore bright, entrepreneurial types. Period. They do not care about pedigree or titles.
You can explore and see ...I've seen some SrC landing same job as mangers. Nothing to lose by exploring , no need to speculate
Check internal corp Dev. That's where I transferred and I couldn't be happier
Also look at previous clients, they may have a position you can leverage your experience in
