Received my annual review today. Bonus check will be nice got a decent hourly increase. Supervisor even left a nice comment about me work from 2024. Started off that I exceeded expectations... then I noticed the rating. It wasn't exceeds expectations it was above expectations. Did a little digging and was told, the director fought for 15 mins about me not getting a exceeds and that everything I did that was above my duties were actually part of my role.

Im a third year and my current firm isn't bad and I'm pretty comfortable here. Im satisfied most of the time. There is one firm I've been keeping my eyes on because of its similarities to where I currently am (nice people, similar hours, culture).

Im a bit burned out now and I would love to take a long break. I'm hoping I can take a break (2 months) between the transition but is this a good reason to move though? Would you move in my situation? Im sure there will be a signing bonus.

Been with Big Four advisory (GRC) for 10 years. Really tired of meaningless “consulting” and commoditized implementations. Recently been through a rough job search and finally landed an offer with a mid size bank in their risk practice. People say that the culture there is quite political and bitter but I’ll learn a heck lot and get a new opening on my resume. Salary is the same. The other option is to take a consulting job that pays me 50k more but do the same work! Thoughts? Thanks!

Does anyone know the answer to this? - My first mortgage statement was generated on 11/2 with a due date of 12/1 and includes a month of interest based on the balance on 11/2. I made a principle only payment on 11/14 of $500 which was applied right away. Will the interest automatically recalc to reflect a lower outstanding balance for a portion of the month? How do I deal with this? I've never been a yes person and I don't preach this to my reports. I don't know what to do. Help?

I have a direct report who is smart, passionate about her job and can be really innovative. However she carries this enormous weight of responsibility, for needing to do everything, do it right, make sure it's perfect, not trusting colleagues to help. It creates dread and panic and overwhelming workload and a terrible attitude for her and I am speaking with her this week to start to shift her mindset. Any tips in navigating how to let go of this heavy idea of "responsibility"?

Read that McK is paying 2K higher than BCG this year which means BCG will probably raise again next year to at least match. What would you do? I took sick time for half a day about a month or so ago. Couldn’t clock out appropriately because my keyboard had broken right as I was shutting everything down.
