Seeking advice: I applied to another B4, had a screening call, and have just been asked to provide my availability for an interview. It’s been two weeks since the screening call, and in the interim I’ve had a change of heart, which is to attempt the switch in several months. I want to keep the option open for then. How should I proceed?

Booz Allen Hamilton rescinded my offer because my current firm will not waive the non-compete clause in our employee agreement. It was allegedly a capability hire, and not tied to a particular project.
I work one level above entry level, and really shouldn’t even have such a restrictive non-compete.
I’ve already resigned, and would prefer to be unemployed rather than continue working here.

So you can either join Booz already in cyber, or join EY, and hope to move to cyber?
Go to Booz, better benefits, insane work life balance for “consulting”, and they have honestly just a lot more work, EY’s fed practice is fairly small.
But this is all not considering how you liked who you interviewed with more
Yeah if the salary is the same there is absolutely no reason not to go with Booz. Easy to do both federal and commercial there too if you're in cyber and none of this "commit to a year" before switching nonsense.
Overall a lot of support for whatever you want to make of your career there and like others mentioned, the commitment to work life balance is fully embedded into the culture there. Doesn't mean you won't have times where you have to put in long hours but it will be noticed and appreciated.
Assuming both offers are the same compensation... which would be the better option? For EY, they mentioned I could switch over to their cyber practice after committing a year to IT Audit (if I wanted to)
Even if there’s a slight pay difference the work like balance makes it worth it IMO + what the first two said about doing cyber if that’s what you want to do. EY is the external auditor for Navy (that’s my assumption of your project based on what you’ve said) and that project is messy
