TBWA NY recruiter?
Ok be honest, candidates. I really love this set of questions, I’ve been considering shifting my current interview style to these questions - I think they really give you an idea of who this person would be within the work setting. But the questions almost feel too deep for a recruiter to ask. What would you think if a recruiter took a different path and asked these questions instead of the usual ones?

The posted ranges are dictated by the company — they purposely make ranges large so you can’t really figure out what the true budgeted comp is. Recruiters hate this just as much as everyone else. The true budgeted comp usually (but not always) falls in the middle of the posted comp range — as a guideline only!
When you interview, you should ask what the BUDGETED comp is for role, don’t wait until you’ve wasted your time on 10 interviews and then receive an offer way below your value.
Hope this helps!
Thank you so much. That's really great advice!
I'm oftentimes harsh on recruiters, but I do believe there are times when they, too, are blindsided by the greedy people who budget these roles. I can see a scenario when they are given the exact numbers that they post in the ad only to be told by those greedy people that they're not willing to spend that much, which leads me to believe that those greedy people intentionally set those recruiters up to lower people with top-tier experience for a cut rate.
Sometimes there are budget constraints or internal policies that dictate where an offer falls within the posted range. And yeah it's not always fair or ideal from the candidate's perspective.
