22 years old and currently focused on using my left over income to invest and pay off my debt. I have a friend trying to talk me in to an IUL instead of a 529 for my kids. (My kids have 529s and that’s what I intend on staying with.) Am I missing something? Can someone dumb it down for me why IUL is a bad idea (if it is, in fact, a bad idea). Is there any reason to have both? Her main reason is that 529 counts as income and IUL doesn’t and can also serve as a retirement plan. Help, wise ones!

Now my standard util is 40 and my adjusted is 105... and this project last in another month... by then my standard util might be 20.. will my promotion be affected by this?
