That is incredibly frustrating and a potential source of friction in the future when it comes to respecting boundaries. I would immediately install a simple lock (barrel bolt or chain) on your door that doesn't require taking apart the door handle at the very least.
That won't help if they stay banging on it and yelling through the door
At that point. Honestly you're better off at your own place
How about a hotel rom for any day you have an interview? Doesn’t have to be fancy.
Did you tell them you had an interview and locked the door?
Next time is it possible to interview elsewhere? Like a quiet coffee shop or meeting room in your local library?
The interviewer may have worried something similar would happen in front of a client. Not everyone is forgiving unfortunately.

What was so important for them? Lol
Y’all gotta take the incident & learn from it. Express disappointment to your parents. Ask them to see it from your side… then forget about it & move on. If you can clearly communicate your disappointment with your parents & they understand their behavior was not appropriate- then you’ve turned your disappointment into a positive.
jesus, tiger parents?
yeah. just in the wrong way
Honestly if this is the reason they dinged you it’s bad form. I’ve worked with so many colleagues who have kids / adults/ pets coming into the room in the middle of zoom meetings and we make it work while still maintaining productivity. It should not be the basis for assessing candidacy. Chin up and keep looking. Mbb is not the be all and end all.
That’s frustrating and you should absolutely have a conversation with your parents about how important it is for them to give you space during interviews… I promise it didn’t affect anything evaluation-wise directly! And although I would be pretty thrown off for the remainder of the interview, if it was first rounds, the evaluators/recruiters probably would’ve let you pass to next round if there was potential for this to be a fluke vs your other interviews… sounds like it wasn’t your mom’s fault!

Can't wait till in-person interviews are the norm again...

OMG I actually laughed out loud at this one 🤣🤣. Thank you for that good entertainment. My daughter would be livid if we did that to her (but we wouldn’t…..). Anyways, this means there is a better fit out there for you!!! Good luck!
This happened to me…I was super hard on my parents (kind of deservedly so) but try to give them a break…it all works out in the end.
Move out….
Yeah there is no way they didn’t sabotage intentionally
