This job is a trend that will die. Nobody ever built their fortune door-knocking; it is a short-term money grab. I’m not saying it’s a bad job or that everything is awful; just have something else lined up. Don’t plan on longer than 3-6 months. At that point you can safely say you have real direct sales experience.

For those of you that jumped from Big 4 to smaller audit firms, what are some of the things that you did that helped you have a successful and fulfilling career at your smaller firm?

Purely mercenary question here: If I'm currently a 7yr working EPLI at an ID firm, and want to break $300k in the next few years, is there a route to get there?

Partnership at my firm won't come close. My transferrable book is probably less than $100k a year. BL is probably not interested in me given my law school tier and current firm. Am I dreaming?

Is there such things as FP&A positions in Big 4? If so, are there better times to make the change than others (I.e. at senior vs manager)? I had a job interview for a role that I really want. The hiring manager scheduled me for an interview and did not show up. My company blames my generation for not being able to hire everyday. “You guys don’t want to work” coming from some overweight, racist, old coaster.
