Advisory- its low. Ask for a comp adjustment. I got an offer from another firm and my EY senior manager got me a match.
A3 86 at pwc lol. You getting jerked
I don't think what you're making is low. 90k for S2 is normal.
Maybe you're making $89k as SA2 because you don't know how to spell "advice"
Advisory PI ? A little low for PI
You are getting an offer that is 30k above what you are currently making. Consider this, if you ask for a match, do you still expect to be considered for year end comp adjustment at EY? If you switch firms, when is the next comp adjustment you are eligible for? I know making $119k today gives you more cash up front, but you may be stagnant there for 18 months. Just some things to think about. If you like the role at EY, definitely talk to your PPED about the opportunity and see what they say. Also ask yourself if you do get a match and stay, will you be back looking in the job market in 2 months anyway. I've always been told by the leadership I've worked for that they are willing to work with you once. But if you come back again with an offer in hand they'll let you move on and you may burn bridges by doing so.
Before you meet I would think about how you want to approach the meeting. E.g. I am generally happy at EY - like the work and people and would prefer to stick around, but you've seen opportunities in the market that pay significantly more. You wanted to speak to leadership about getting comp in line with market before you make a decision about going with another opportunity, etc. They might ask about the market rates / opportunity you are seeing - I would be honest that another big 4 has offered you $119 which is significant (30% more than your current) and would make a difference given personal plans / goals.
Dude take the money. Come back to EY in a couple years. Happens all the time.
Senior 2 in Advisory
That's low... staff are making low 80s these days
@K1, didn't want to talk about it but I have an offer from KPMG for 119K. Wonder what that says about me or KPMG. Admit the spelling mistake.
Manager at 94, so that's not that bad
@EY4 you must be in Tax or Audit. Do you live in a tier 2 city ? Irrespective, that's very low for M1
89K isn't actually that low for a S2
Thank You EY5. If I get a match at EY, I am certainly staying put for another 2 years. I plan on getting married by the end of this year, so money is a factor. Do you think I should talk about compensation and not speak about the offer at all or bring the offer in the picture as well. I ask because I would settle even if EY comes close to the offer.
EY OP - when I was at EY, I had offers from the other Big 3. The offers were significantly higher - about 80% higher(I was a staff 2 in ITRA, and the offers were for a senior role at other firms). When I brought this up to my Senior Manager, he got a verbal agreement from leadership to match the offer. If you have good relationship with your CF Leader or someone else's at a PPED level, I suggest going that route.
