Seasonal depression is slowly starting to creep in and I know it’s going to get worse after daylight savings. Any tips on how to combat this? Especially with limited human interaction due to WFH

I know it’s just anecdotal, but I’ve always found that having a workout routine significantly helps.

Many people I know who regularly have SAD each year, have their own UV lights ...

With covid, the majority of people I know have formed their own 'tribe' of friends and family to interact with, that follow the same Covid protocols as each other. This is what I've done.

Many others I know are members of groups that they were part of before Covid, but now meet virtually.

Some others have joined groups that connect people with similar interests ... (dinner party / meet up) ...

Obviously, the situation is NOT ideal, but there are options to be creatively social.

1. Maintain a gratitude journal - write down 3 things you are grateful for everyday and
2. Make a Playlist of music with good memories attached and ensure you listen more to that.
3. Get a pet! - best thing that happened to us.
4. There are some good apps like Wysa, Better Help that are good
5. Call family and friends everyday - human connection is so important - especially someone who understands you.

That little lamp! I think it’s actually called Happy Lamp. And Zoom with your friends and lots of FaceTime with family. You got this!!! Go outside during the day to catch rays even if it’s freezing. You must expose your skin! If you have family or friends with kids call them more often. It’s dumb but warms my heart. I didn’t have time for a long call but my tiny nephew wanted to FaceTime his stupid costume and show me he’s ready for Halloween. It took literally forever. But I mean how can you be grouchy after that right?

Can you move somewhere sunny? Tropical?

It’s been 3 years since I (27F) moved to Seattle and still don’t have a solid social circle. Not necessarily a big group… I’m talking 3-4 friends who are easy going and not flakey/ hard to make plans with.

Idk if it’s due to Covid, Seattle freeze, a combination of the two or other factors. Any transplants out there who are NOT the outdoorsy type and feel the same? And if so, how did you get past it?

Hello! I recently applied for a Travel Procurement Senior Manager role at PwC (role is in NYC and I’m not NYC-based but I believe certain roles can be primarily remote). I have 5+ years of experience in this field and the description/company culture seem like a perfect match to what I’m looking for. Are there any fish from PwC and/or their talent acquisition team that can provide a reference post-submission and insight on the hiring process? Thanks!!

I’ve suffered from workaholism for a long time. Thanks to a lot of great self help books and therapy, I’m no longer putting work on a pedestal and I’m spending a lot more time on self care and my marriage. But, unfortunately, I am now getting withdrawals, because my body is used to the daily adrenaline of throwing myself into work. It’s this terrible feeling of like anguish/unease in my gut, but I don’t have anything I’m worried about- it’s like my body wants to find something to worry about.

I love my SO but get unsure....they just went on a friends trip and came back and randomly said going on another one in two weeks.
