PwC did the same to me. Tell them that in order to consider the position you need that level. Otherwise walk. Never ever let the B4 do that to you - it’s such garbage
So if I frame it “I’ve already done Senior responsibilities as x, y, z and I’m not comfortable taking a title lower than what I currently have?” Does that sound too dickish?

Nope! Do not accept anything less than your current level it’s a scam!
Just make sure your salary requirements are outside their max associate range.
