Senior 1 at EY and have been going through the recruiting process at PWC. The recruiter says I should accept a Exp. Associate role because I’ll be promoted faster than coming in at SA. Is this true?

Hahahaha. No. Get SA now. We hear this all the time

likefunny

Absolutely do not fall for that

likefunny

Don’t take it unless they give you SA title upfront. The recruiter has zero influence on promotion process.

likefunny

Not at all. If anything, it’s too soft - no pun intended...

PwC did the same to me. Tell them that in order to consider the position you need that level. Otherwise walk. Never ever let the B4 do that to you - it’s such garbage

like

So if I frame it “I’ve already done Senior responsibilities as x, y, z and I’m not comfortable taking a title lower than what I currently have?” Does that sound too dickish?

like

Thought so. Thanks. Any ideas on how to best push back on this?

like

Nope! Do not accept anything less than your current level it’s a scam!

Just make sure your salary requirements are outside their max associate range.

Thanks for the help! Hopefully it goes well

Is it worth it to go back to school for a better track to a FAANG company? Been working in PA for 2 years. No prior internships or business related work. Is it okay that my resume is just my associate role with like 15 bullet points? Not sure how to fill in the blank space, and it feels super lame to bring in non-relevant college jobs. Can I include ways I'm involved at the firm like mentorship and diversity initiatives?

Secured 750 (Q:49, V:42) in GMAT. Targeting to apply for EMBA in 1-2 years. 9 YOE. Current role: Senior Manager. Target universities: M7, INSEAD and LBS. Question is, for GMAT exam I just focused on Q & V part, and skipped IR & AWA part (IR: 1 & AWA: 3). Now does it make sense to reattempt with a focus on other parts and risk 750 scores, or you think it’s not needed, as for EMBA’s GMAT score is not the only deciding factor and 750 score is enough for most universities irrespective of IR & AWA.

What are the ultimate consulting exit apps (I.e? specific role/team & industry) for the non-technical consultants? Looking to understand the exit opps available that: 1. Pay in line with MBB or exceeds (YOY raise is also in line with career and pay progression at MBB) 2. Have reasonable hours, at most 9-7 so I can pick up some hobbies and have a personal life 3. Have great global brand/prestige that will make me as desirable exiting consulting now vs exiting that company in the future

Exploring a potential data analytics role at MBB that isn’t part of their general consulting track… it seems more like an internal service that partners with consulting teams and occasionally is client facing. I’m interested in pursuing an MBA in the near-ish future and I’m curious how much this would help my application versus staying in my current role as a B4 consultant?

Considering an expert role in healthcare in mid Atlantic region at McKinsey. Any thoughts about culture, wlb, tc, etc? Have read through a bunch of older threads. Opinion seems mixed. Negatives mentioned include more intense work hours than integrative track, second class citizen, slower career progression, lower pay than integrative, harder to get staffed on engagements, poor integration into teams, and subpar exit opportunities. Also read this is changing. Would appreciate recent thoughts. 🙏
