First option bc you can show you're ready for new challenges, new responsibilities, etc. whereas everyone probably wants to be on the dream cushy client and that won't help you stand out within your firm
You could also argue that the dream client in dream industry will help grow your industry knowledge that you can then pass on to other clients, but I still think the first option will present better career opportunities
If you're qualified and capable, I'd choose the first. If you're going to struggle your way through the first and you don't have any support (guessing since you're taking on managerial role) then it could look worse when you drop the ball.
Dream client, dream industry. If you actually like going to work every day, you're miles ahead of most seniors.
While you're on site at your dream client in your dream industry every day find the right person to help you make it your real employer.
*"every day, find.." 😔I feel so simple.
Dream client is obviously the answer. Position yourself for a recurring role and growth opportunities on the clients you want to work on. Taking on the acting manager role on the boring client means you'll be stuck as manager on it for years to come (assuming you don't fuck up)
