Conduent HR is ghosting even after sending a salary break up. When I finally got hold of her she told me to send the counter offer through mail. She is not responding to my mails when I'm nearing lwd, very unprofessional behaviour from Conduent. Will production even be fun when we go back??

I personally was a sr producer for 5 years before making the leap to EP and that was after running entire offices and production teams for several years. The real question is do you manage a large client account, do you manage multiple people on the team, do you understand how to play the political game and diffuse intense situations rather than add to them, and do you know how to produce across multiple types of productions and budgets. It’s not length of time but proven experience.
Most agencies are capping out at Sr Producer these days. After youre an EP the number of opps drop drastically. Recommendation: slow your roll if you want a long career
My roll is slow...not ready for that level of responsibility, nor that huge of a title leap. The jump from SP to EP seems pretty high...Just curious what it takes and if I should feel comfortable sitting here for a bit... I’ve been an SP for awhile now, should I be okay with that? The answer is “yes, I should”.
Two good pieces of feedback. Thank you!
I would add 2 things. 1, don’t be offended when folks much younger gain the same title as it’s a long path. 2, one day someone will want you so bad that you can slap that EP title on to negotiate. Lastly, go for VP, sr producer first!
EP2 it’s funny you say that. I was going for VP, but was recently told that was not an offering. Which caught me off guard, because it is typically such a lengthy term. How do you differentiate someone like me, who’s been producing for almost 15 yrs, with someone else that’s only been producing for 5-ish. Especially when I feel I work with a company that doesn’t really show you much respect without the right title. (Whether or not I’m with the right company is a whole other conversation). I’ve always hated titles, because ego is involved, and I’m struggling because I feel like I deserve and need that level of recognition.
When I became an EP everyone treated me differently. Even vendors.
I’ve been where you are. I’m 20 years in and it was frustrating. But, if I went back to freelance, I would take whatever title someone gives me. It’s about the work you do, your producer style and attitude and, most importantly, being requested! Keep asking for the title change and keep getting requested.
