They won the 2022 James Beard award for Best Bar Program. Very good spot but always super packed.
McInytres in the heights. Fantastic purple Gatorade shots and all your boys from back when you were at A&M are there.
might go watch us BTHO bama there
Eight Row Flint for cocktails/nachos
Camerata or Light Years for wine
Heights Bier Garten if you want a million options (excellent cocktails, solid beer/wine selection)
Better Luck Tomorrow for a cool patio
Wicklow Heights for patio/dogs and a relaxed environment. Close proximity to a number of other Heights bars as well.
Better luck tomorrow: cocktails - chill atmosphere
Bohème: date, after work hangout
8 row flint: hang out
LeiLow for tiki. Drink discounts if you wear a Hawaiian shirt. Only like 5 parking spots out front so you'll probably have to street park. Amazing drinks, fun staff, and occasional movie nights.
Bosscat - good date spot for the Galleria if they don’t have their “DJ”
My local watering hole that is going to go unnamed for chill beers & sports
Lumen for the clubbing
Axelrad / ice houses / breweries for the beer garden vibes
I have not been there yet but it has been on my list for sometime. I def need to check this place out.
Wait where’s the restaurant thread?
Yes its right underneath this one in this bowl! There are soooo many good places listed on there to check out.
Kirby for sports
Marfreless for dates
Captain Foxharts for vibes

Woosters - patio & indoors. Not too crazy & has good drinks
Toasted Coconut for tiki and food. Their patio is comfortable rain or shine and they allow dogs.

Clarkwood = ambience / drinks
Pretty Liar = patio Sunday’s
Boheme = drinks / patio / entertainment
Refuge, a new cocktail bar by the ppl from anvil, is a good date spot. It’s on westheimer in the same building as anvil. Has more seating and is quieter than Anvil—but still good cocktails.
Permission whiskey bar in the heights is a great vibe. Good ambiance, service and drinks
Second this—White oak can be a lot of fun!
Pitch 25 for sports
Post Oak / Kirby ice houses - pet friendly, spacious, and good drinks
F
Boneyard for dogs.
Was going to add Barkley’s but just found out it has closed down
Permission bar is excellent. Great ambiance, service and drinks!
Levy Park
Alabama Ice House for a Saturday afternoon is good too (they only serve beer tho). Katy Ice House is great if you’re watching a game with a group (they have liquor/full bar).
PJs, Cecils, and Lola’s Depot are all good dive bars in Montrose. PJ’s karaoke is on Friday and is usually really fun. Rudyards is also in montrose and has good food/good bar and a comedy club on the second floor that can also be a ton of fun. Also Poison Girl on westheimer in Montrose is great. Final montrose/westheimer spot would be la grange after work on a Friday.
I like white oak blvd on a nice day. Bob Cat Teddy’s is my favorite over there. Then you have the 19th street bars—mostly huge, big crowds, big bars, big TVs. Not as much of a favorite, but I’m always getting dragged there!
Nah West Alabama now has wine and seltzers and kombucha too just no mixed drinks
