I mean its up to you OP. If you feel like getting a new client is the best option for you then that is what I would do. However, try to have some grace because people who aren't feeling well can often have misguided anger. Try not to take it personal.
Agree with M1, considering the reason(s) this person needs an aide probably greatly impacts their behavior. It’s almost certainly not about you and has nothing to do with you. They need help and maybe someone that can persevere and be a loving and merciful light in their life can have a positive impact on their wellbeing even if it’s not directly apparent outwardly. Honestly if she’s gone through lots of aids she must really need someone that can see past her anger and difficult behaviors for the person beneath that.
It truly is a calling. I work with up to 50 pts a day and I have no patience for them anymore. I realize that it is me and I shouldn’t be servicing directly but working behind the scenes.
I tend to agree with your boyfriend on this situation. There is a reason why many people have left the position. If the client is behaving too egregious you need to find another client.
If she does not want you, Leave her alone!!! Get reassigned before she makes up allegations against you guys! Have a psych consult in for her to fully explore her mood liability and on going resentment
