So I am a year overdue in submitting expenses but for a period my father passed, I was 150% utilized, and there was a glitch that didn't allow import of corp card expenses - should I submit or eat it?

Def submit!

like

I'm sorry but you had no time to do your expenses in the past year? I find it shocking that you didn't care more about collecting $12K of your own money

like

You want to eat 12,000 dollars of cost?! Jesus no. Talk to whoever you have to but do not, I repeat, DO NOT, eat the cost. That's a shitty precedent to set and your firm should care about you more than a 90 day policy.

like

Ok you'll submit and it will be declined for sure

like

How do you rack up 12k of expenses if you're not traveling?

like

How the fuck do you ignore $12K reimbursement for a year?

like

^sorry hit post too soon. So yeah per policy it will be denied. The policy changed from 6 months to now 90 days max! So submit speaks so the partner and see if there is anything they can do. If the engagement code is still open maybe they'll be able to still charge the client.

like

^ good question..

like

You're gonna need a good answer when they ask why you haven't done it yet and where those expenses came from. If you have one, don't eat it.

like

Talk to your PPED, OP. Nothing is set in stone. Sorry for your loss.

like

Has to be a troll

like

A year?! How much?

$12k. I'm based in NY and never travel.

But think policy is 90 days so am I going to get denied anyway and also then audited or a talking to for not being an effective business operator or something and still have to eat it?

Shit I read 1,200! 12K oh hell!

Mck1 and D1 both have valid questions. I too was wondering how one doesn't notice 1000 extra bucks a month they're spending themselves and how they manage to spend that much while being local.

Submit- your daddies for heaven's sake. They will have to deal with it

Do NOT eat it. It's 12,000 dollars and even if you were making 1.2million a year it would be stupid to eat cost associated with client delivery. That's literally fraud.

I am assuming long hours since the utilization was 150%, you can expense dinners and taxis if you stay past 8pm. Should be easy to rack up $1000 a month in NYC

Holy shit

Due to a family situation we are looking to move to a different state. Normally we would sell our current home and buy a new home in our new location. However, with todays prices and interest, will it make more sense to rent out our current home and rent a home ourselves vs. selling and buying immediately when we move? We are moving from Vegas to Sacramento and we are not sure how long we would stay in the new area. Thoughts?

Planning on moving to London from New York for with 9mo baby in January. Would love some advice on the following topics:
1) Areas to look for affordable housing in a good area - potentially 2bed within the 1500 range?
2) would you recommend owning a car or would public transport be sufficient?
3) How does child care work (nanny/daycare)?
4) Is there an option to hire help for regular cooking, household chores, etc? If yes, what are the prices charged?
5) how does pay work with a transfer?

What’s your advise for someone looking to get into soft IP litigation (not an engineering / science major) but have been working in L&E for 3 years now. I want to make the move, but feel like my background makes firms not want me. I’ve applied to a few places but don’t get an interview. I know my litigation skills are top notch — so I don’t know what to do. I started branching out to orgs to network , but any other ideas?
