W2 isn't a contractor, that's employee.
1099 is contractor.
Don't torch me if I'm wrong but this is the first I've heard of W2 contractor.
Basically , they’re contracting me out to the client and I’m paid by the company on an hourly basis.

It could be just me, I avoid positions specifically created for contractor hiring.
They are often high grinding roles with managers who are difficult to work with.
Sometimes it could just be that they need to ramp up team by a large headcount and hence a contractor role. In this case above issues are not valid.
Ask recruiter tenure of contract, if its available as contract to hire etc
Absolutely, I’m just wanting to ensure that 1) I can put the client on my resume / LinkedIn over the agency (I think it’ll look better for other exit opportunities) and 2) the work will be available for at least a year at 40 hours per week minimum less vacation I choose to take

So no health insurance? Meh .. id take the role if i planned in continuing to look for something more perm/traditional cuz this sounds like a trickbag.

D1 is write...If you receive a W2 you are an employee. Possibly the recruiter was confused.
