I get really anxious when I don’t have much to do at work, I start worrying I’m going to get in trouble for being under utilized.. does anyone else ever experience this?
Has anyone left for a government job? I applied for a job that would pay more, would shorten my commute by maybe an hour, and I wouldn't have to deal with utilization. (see comment below for more)
Was hired into a specific supply chain consulting field based on my major, yet they have me working in the PMO for a YEAR on this engagement. My skills are not being fully utilized. Advice?
Is utilization less important if the firm simply cannot sell enough projects to staff people on?
Quick question, YE conversations are in the 3rd week of July for me, 85% is the utilization target and I'll be at or just above 84% by the time the conversations happen. Do you think it'll be held
Hey managers and above, does anyone evaluate/look at utilization at the beginning of the fiscal year for staff and seniors? Or does it get evaluated only near end of year? Curious to know...
Never been on the bench. Always been 90+% utilization rate. Can I just be on the bench so I can study for CPA 🤣😭
I am a senior with 40% utilization.AMA
for federal projects that cap you at 40/week, do the leadership ever take this into account how it effects your utilization?
What is the exact date on which utilization tracking for FY2018 started? I know it's March sometime. When does it end?
Senior associates of PwC, what's your utilization? I want to know if I should panic about a low rating this year. I'm at 80% right now
Had lower utilization this year than normal due to being rolled off and on different engagements with downtime in between. Nothing performance-related. Even though it was out of my hands (cont)
If our target utilization rate is 95% what is the actual rate wherein less than that, the firm actually lost money on me?
What is the longest you have seen someone with less than 50% utilization stay in a firm?
I noticed today that my utilization on ToD plunged even though I continue to be staffed? Anyone experience the same?
How hard should you actually work in consulting? Obviously we have utilization requirements so we work long hours but I’m tired of giving 100% of my brain power. Is there any benefit of working harder? IMO there’s an incentive to work slower
How lenient are you with billing? Just saw a presentation showing the average utilization was over 95% at my mid sized consultancy and I swear I know so many people that barely have work. Like literally during the staffing calls everyone says they’re only 50% billable and are looking to take on more work.
Evaluating an offer in Canada with Avanade base pay - 160k CAD, 6% annual bonus, 10k CAD sign on , location - Toronto. YoE - 11 years, already have a Canadian PR. Currently in the US employed with EY at 150k USD base, but on a H1B visa, GC EB3 PD 2019. Worth it? Avanade folks?
Anyone else experiencing texting fatigue during the pandemic? I love my friends, but after a full day on zoom calls the last thing I want to do is talk or text about the minutiae of everyday life. I feel like once a week or every couple of days is a happy medium for me. I know my friends mean well and they’re great, but the constant texting is wearing me out! Curious if other people feel this way?
I am so conflicted about socializing during COVID. My friend invited me to a dinner with two new people (who work at the big 4) at an outdoor restaurant. Where I live, the COVID rate is ~3%. My friend invited the group chat and the two other girls shamed my friend for socializing in a small group during COVID. My friend group won’t agree to be in a pod and won’t meet unless everyone is 6 feet apart. It’s going to get cold soon and I feel like I’m going to be lonely if I don’t make new friends ☹️
Having been prospecting business owners for some time now, I am asked about 401k plans quite often. I am curious how you are managing the assets...do you offer a menu of investment options?

For all ex-Deloitte 🐠 I’m in advisory. Leaving 3 months before my 2 years is up. How does the sign on bonus repayment work? Do they take it out of our final check? Or PTO payout? If I wanted to talk to someone about prorating the amount to pay back, who would that be and at what point do I do that? I appreciate any input!
Newbie trying to get a better understanding: is it better to max the 401K or just hit company 401K match and max Roth IRA first?
Any one know about current Deloitte green card policy? I heard they won’t sponsor GC for employee that has less than 18 months for their H1B.
Chicago 🐡, does anyone use Delta as their main airline? I’ve been building United status, but I flex travel a lot to Delta hubs and Delta planes tend to be a lot nicer... any thoughts?
NJ fishes, could you please recommend places for medical for the greencard process? Thanks!
