So we’re having #2 in mid summer - advice from any fellow dads out there on key things to consider and/or how to handle another!?! Have a 2 year old now.

Make sure you let work know you won’t be available for the days/weeks surrounding the birth and put an out of office on your email with a delegated person to contact - having a baby is a big deal so relax and take the time to enjoy it

I got really salty and disconnected. Hard to die to self as a dad and 2 is the last stop before things are over. Find joy in new opportunities to serve

Sibling class for older kid was helpful. Offered by hospital. Having nana out to hang with the older kid for a couple weeks when baby came was nice too. Having older kid identify “baby toys” and pick out new “big kid furniture” worked well. Basically it’s nice to have the big kid as prepared as possible for the new addition to avoid jealousy and whatnot. Otherwise number two has been easy peasy. Enjoy!

Having two is way easier than 1! Once #2 gets bigger they play with and entertain each other. Good luck!

Work to teach the older child how to be gentle with the new baby without making the new baby taboo. Encourage and teach your two year old to play with the baby from day 1. Also make sure you take the time to meet the older kids needs. We do dates with our kids to they know they are special.

Any tips for organizing a bedroom, closet, dresser & bathroom? My teen has IADHD, and low executive functioning. Her room looks like a land mine. Clean clothes are mixed in with dirty, her desk is a disaster, she won’t let go of clothes she’s outgrown, drawers are open with clothes hanging out. A therapist said to close her door if we don’t want to see it but it’s more than that. She needs this important life skill & I don’t know how to help. Easier to organize w/o her but that’s not a solution.

What’s the best cadence for sending nurture emails? I’m looking to re-engage partners who haven’t worked with us in X amount of days. I typically send nurture emails once a week but curious what success others have found breaking it up. TYIA!

Did yall hear about the Chicago mom who had her kid taken away because she wouldn't accept that her child was transgender? As a parent, that's actually kind of scary that the government would that with no basis of abuse or neglect. Smh

Need advice and help.

I have realized I grew up in a household where my dad did not treat my mom as an equal. He belittles her, is rude and convinced his way is the only way.

It is painful to say, but some of this shows up in me and in my relationship. I am starting to catch myself, and it to me seems to be more of a reaction than anythjng that is ever intentional.

Wondering if anyone has dealt with something similar, and any success in making changes besides therapy. Cont. in comments

Clever ways to get cheaper housing? What's your hack to beat the system?

Married, 2 kids under 3 yrs. Apartment is too small, but we can't afford bigger. Do we rent a 2-story house and split it with another family? Do we stay in our small apartment and get creative with bunk beds and storage solutions?

How can a family, with kids, and one crappy income ($82,000) get a comfortable living situation here?

Help!! My bestfriend is doing two months abroad and was trying to fly into turkey when they told her she couldn't because her passport expired within three months.

She went to the US Embassay in Athens knowing she had a month left of traveling, and gave her an emergency passport and punched holes in her exsisting one. Now no country will let her in with her emergency passport.

Can her mom get her a passport in the US and ship it to her? Is there anyway around this?

Thank you!!

So… 3.5 year relationship came crashing in Jan due to covid depression, work burn out, lockdown etc. We have stayed in contact and recently he has come around to apologizing and considering getting back together. However he also revealed he started seeing someone casually 4 weeks ago and technically is cheating on her by meeting me for coffee and to discuss this. I’m upset that he’s dating others but shouldn’t be right? I mean, I did the same. Still hurts though. And I told him to sort that out

Hi guys

This question may not be related. However I wanted to know from personal and family point of view how it is like to relocate from India and live abroad .
Let's say Family consists of husband , wife and a kid . I understand we will get good facilities, education, cleanliness , good air etc , however I wanted to check whether people gel up easily in the new environment? Don't they feel loneliness/ difficult to adjust? Do they look for similar asian nationalities to kill boredom?

Poll on general attitudes towards open relationships? I’m in one and find that some folks are totally non-judgmental about it, while others are so vicious/rude about it. Curious about your opinions! I understand that every open relationship is different, and each couple defines their own arrangement/rules. For context, ours is a passive one that’s hardly acted on, but we both have Grindr and meet guys for fun on the very odd occasion (whether together or apart). If you’re in one, describe yours!
