These are the NORMAL Omnicom benefits. Welcome to the club.
Some Omnicom employee posted that even their befits were reduced from last year.
I mean if the leaders of those agencies really commit and make a bold stand, things will change. Primarily the leadership at those agencies.
omnicom make the rules, individual agencies hold no power over ANY decisions. We’ve watched our benefits and time off diminish during the last couple of years. Our leadership are powerless. We’re waiting for the January email announcing further cuts. And looking forward to the 5 day RTO, which is coming soon. Just accept your fate if you‘re planning to stay working at an omc agency. Harsh facts.
lol-new here ?
Welcome to Mergicom, soon the only agency in the world.
You’re very generous with the term, “leaders.”
You can’t really expect corporations to do the right thing because their employees want it. Their employees don’t get a vote. Not unless there is a union or outside laws push them to do it. Let’s stop being naive.
Definitely not defending the OMC benefits at all!! But please do confirm with your HR person, since I noticed on social media that there was inaccurate info posted about OMC parental benefits, making them look worse than reality.
You can talk to someone at The Hartford. They explain it step by step. 10 weeks + STD = 16/18 weeks paid.
Welcome to what the rest of the US has been living like. We have been so privileged and tbh will still have more flexibility than most.
Scary words! You're crying about your benefits and saying most people don't work nights and weekends. Clearly you live in a bubble. A stupid privilege bubble.
I’ve held some relatively senior roles within holding co agencies and a very senior role at a mid-sized indie and one thing I can tell you is that there are only a handful of people who have any real impact on benefits and they tend to work in hr, finance, and operations.
Many US Ad agencies used to have generous benefits packages in the 90s and early 2000s. HR creeps are to blame as they get promotions and bonuses for being stingy twats. It’s generally an awful business now and over time the indy will lose talent to other career paths.
I’ve heard that some of Wren’s reports have spoken up about this, and that these points of view are being taken into consideration.
Any further intel on this front?
They just wouldn’t be leaders at omc anymore
