So, who is getting a tax refund and who has to pay? I have a theory that people who get a refund filed their taxes in February and those of us who have to pay are waiting until April to file. Am I right?

We owed the last several years and we definitely waited until the very last day to file. This year we got a return and we filed at the beginning of March. I’d say your assessment is pretty accurate.

I still haven't filed my taes and I don't know why I can't just get it done because I am getting a refund this year. I need to sit down and make myself finish them.

So I have claimed exemptions on the following-
1) HRA
2) 5 year term deposit(fixed deposit) under Section 80C
3) Interest on education loan under Section 80E

I have also provided previous employment details.

Guys I didn't know that we have to submit declaration forms as well. Can you please tell me which are the declaration forms that I would need to fill and submit??

Thanks in advance :)
