There is always more to the story … it was not just that …
I get that from both sides, but that was the reason HR gave. Essentially, that vacation isn’t an appropriate ask. But to shortly give friend’s perspective, it was a casual discussion for remote work during the holidays. She made it clear they can say no and not asking for this especially since it’s July. Without getting to conspiratorial, if that was the only reason, think she dodged a bullet with respect to the culture. Fwiw, proven office /admin/manager well regarded in her jobs, moved countries and states, so this one was a shocker for her.
How is anyone to know why she got fired? It could have been anything, there's not nearly enough information here to make that judgment. Bounce back should be easy considering she just stopped interviewing, might even still have resumes out there.
I mean I could see that. As an EA, I can see people expecting her to be in the office in order to finish her tasks that require her to be in. She probably should have waited a bit to feel things out
Totally get that, but this was pre-planning months away until Christmas season. Would’ve thought this would come off as more planning ahead, or could’ve gave flat out no. For further context, was hired pretty fast, and team appeared to be genuinely excited to have her on.
