Should I just quit the legal field?

I have been a paralegal or legal assistant since 2010. I have worked for small and large firms and a TPA. I've worked in L&E, PI, and ID. Billing hours gave me nightmares. Right now I'm in a hybrid paralegal/LA position where I'm responsible for all of the docketing and supporting the managing partner and 1 associate and their 90+ ID caseload. Why does everyone say that starting in Big 4 (or consulting in general) right out of school is great long term? Do other places (industry, tech firms, etc) reach out to you personally for good exit opportunities?
