Spent almost 5 years in PA at a mid-size firm - just moved to industry as an accounting manager at a small private company (general accounting & AR/AP review). Not sure I see myself in this long term - would ideally like a larger public company. Is 6 months at the new industry role too short of a time to jump ship?

What did the first 10 years of your career look like? How many jumps did you make? Where did you work? Audit or tax? PA, government, industry? Pay increases? City-size/CoL? Would love to get enough responses to see any trends related to how long you stayed at your first firm.

Does anyone have any tips on how to crossover to governmental affairs? I love government work, but I would like to try it from a different perspective.

I have a STEM undergrad and 5 years of non consulting work experience. Very good at numbers, strong communication skills, decent at coding (but I don’t want to be a SWE or DS).

Currently in cyber consulting (3 YOE) but more interested in business strategy roles. Do I need to go back to entry level or will my technical experience allow me to come in as an experienced hire?

Although I know you don’t need to pass the patent bar to “technically” do patent litigation, would it be a dead end move to pursue patent litigation without a technical degree / admission to the patent bar? In other words, would most BL firms refuse to staff associates on patent litigation cases if they don’t have a technical degree?

Anyone ever have experience negotiating a new offer to include unvested 401k match and stock grants from your current employer? I hate leaving money on the table but there are some good roles out there. I’m not fully vested in my current 401k yet and my stock grants haven’t matured yet either. I joined nagarro in July,22 and my first salary credited in aug,after that i was able to declare flexi and tax components ,then my second salary credited for sep month and it was very less ,bcoz of flexi declaration.but when i calculate declared flexi amount is ~25k ,as per nagarro it is tax saving component which you can claim later.but I am still not understanding why my executive allowance is very less this time from which ,i got in august 112000 and in sep it is ~21k in payslp

Should you discuss salary range with an internal company recruiter prior to setting up an interview? With external recruiters it’s pretty easy to talk about the expected range. I am trying to avoid wasting all of our time if i get to the last interview and they are expecting a salary that is too low for me.

Thoughts on going from a national firm to a smaller one with ~200 employees and $65M in revenue? I’m a first year tax manager and can get a 33% raise by going to this firm.
