Hi
I have a current CTC of 6.6 and Mastercard is offering 8.9 (including variable ) . I also have an offer from infosys of 10 ( including variable). Which one should I pick considering work life balance and appraisal. My entire doubt is that will they bring me on market rate after appraisals as currently they are not offering very good hike.
I will be joining HR team

Risk Assurance works less and make more money.
Yea but I would apply for first year positions at other firms, hoping that would give me a chance. But definitely waiting till after busy season
It’ll be tough internally, I’d say after 2 years or whenever you’re about to be a senior you could probably make the switch. Risk is always looking for IA slaves with audit backgrounds
You can’t be assured anything without demonstrating good performance over a couple of years. So you can’t be assured of anything after 6 months of work
Yea. But wouldn’t a first year who has experience be more valuable?
No because you don’t necessarily have “more experience” at all and now you’ll probably expect more pay than a college recruit
Pwc2 honestly no. Apparently a lot of resources go into training a new hire and the ones fresh out of school are best or something idk
You’re a staff 1, so...no, I don’t recommend admitting you want out now. I suggest you work a busy season and apply elsewhere in May-June timeframe. But as someone with one year of experience you’re in fairly low demand, just warning you.
There aren’t many first year exit opps.. most of those positions go to college recruits
I’d try to transfer internally first. Or transition to another b4/midsize
Really? You can’t make it two years?
I can make it 2 years. I just want to be assured I can make the move from audit to risk advisory. Even if I don’t get my cpa?
Why do you want to leave core assurance for risk assurance?
I believe risk advisory, which involves sox404 working on internal controls advising is what I am looking for. Unsure as to who it pertains to the cpa? Sorry if I answered your core Q wrong lol
Might not have cpa on time. And also it just seems more interesting. And lastly the pay is better. And I think I can manage completing a PMP cert
Sounds good. Yea I get that reality slap
If you’re staff 1 and just started a few months ago, get through busy season and do your best to impress people. Network now and figure if you will really want to move to risk advisory. Start talking to your coach once busy season is over and ask for a transfer in May-June. It’ll take time but you should be able to transfer internally. I’ve seen so many people with less than 2 years of experience get transferred and moved around. 6 months of experience is completely possible if you have people in your boat
Hang in there. There’s a reason it’s called work
Hang in there? I’m just concerned that if I don’t end up getting my cpa I’ll become an in charge. And tbh I always thought advisory was a more interesting. Especially the risk sector. And was hoping that before that happens I could make the switch and stay at this firm :)
Get your cpa
