Does anyone actually enjoy Federal Consulting or is it just about the work/life balance it affords and easy work? I feel like I’m slowly losing my soul on white collar welfare

Does anyone in this group have ADHD? Are you finding that working in a law firm setting and billing hours is just not something they can do or is it possible with the proper medication and therapy?

I don’t cut my hours, I consistently reach 7 hours a day, but it’s not enough to meet my firm’s minimum requirement. I’m usually working 9 hours/day.

Would you leave external audit for internal audit even if there is no base increased, just sign on bonus? Been having an awful year round busy season and I’m just done. I have heard from multiple sources that WLB is better.

Do GCs work as much as big law partners? It seems like the GCs I know are slammed all the time and even work weekends

How would you handle not getting a lunch break when you are a salaried employee treating patients for 40 hours a week? I don’t get documentation time either, but all notes are to be completed the same day. Some of us have reached out to HR and we’re told to discuss it with the regional director, but the regional director says we’d have to come in early or leave late to block out a lunch break. My commute is an hour each way, so I’d prefer not to make my day any longer. Advice?

My wife and I just don’t get along. I try not to carry that baggage to work, but it’s tough. Some days I lie and say I’m working late to drink beer at work and flirt with this HOT account director.

Accepting an offer in IBD, lateraling over from consulting. Opportunity of a lifetime for me so don’t want to lose it.
But timing is horrible. I joined the Army Reserves before this opportunity was on my radar. Interviewed over several months, got the offer, but shipping out in 1 month for training for 6 months.
Do I irreversibly shoot my career by joining and immediately going on LoA? I obviously haven’t mentioned it in the interview process. Or will this be forgotten a couple years in?

Pivoting away from Sales: I’ve been in sales positions for 15 years, and I’m just exhausted by the role (disputing commissions, arguing about deals, all of it).
