I got offered by my financial advisor to enter a closed private equity fund that has the objective (not guarantee) to 2x the capital in 10 years. That would mean a consistent 7.2% p.a. though I won't be able to sell, which is not a problem.

Do you think it's worth it?

I use this financial advisor because he's a family friend and I pay close to no fee and it was a nice way of getting into investing.

This general strike talk has really got me re-evaluating my whole career. I can’t complain about compensation, I’m paid well, I have benefits, and I have a roof over my head. But the work life balance and unsustainable productivity expectations that have been created by agencies that won’t say no to clients needs to change. We place/create ads to turn millionaires into billionaires while we’re treated terribly. Something’s gotta give. I don’t know a single person who isn’t burnt out right now

Hi all - looking for stats and help on what a St Consultant level III gets paid here in London? (My understanding is that levels are indicative of the cost of living of your home office and thus a higher level guarantees a higher pay). With 80K I feel like I’m being severely low-balled. I’m transferring from a US office.

I find myself whiling away most of my weekend on Grindr and other dating apps. >90% of the time is wasted and doesn't lead to anything. I know it's a black hole but I still keep going back. Off late, I've realized that more than anything else, I'm just lonely and don't have much else to do. I go there craving sort of connection and human interaction. In my late 20s - don't have too many friends. The ones I do are also busy pairing off and settling down. Anybody else in the same boat?

Lately I have little tolerance for big meals. I try to do IF and would naturally do it because I wouldn’t feel very hungry until noon and have a big lunch and a big dinner. This is very awkward socially or at office when I can’t eat much but keep feeling hungry so frequently. Do you think something else is going on that I need to check on?
