Hey guys, Since I am working in Deloitte and right now, I am working from home. I want to go Nepal for 2 months and I want to work from there. Do I need to tell my manager or simply I can go there and start my work. Is there any obligation?
Note- I don't want to tell anyone. Since it may backfire sometimes

Interviewed at Deloitte, PwC and EY for Advisory Senior Consultant role. Deloitte offered $105K (plus $5K bonus), PWC offered $127K (plus $15K bonus) and EY offered $155K (plus $10K bonus). Surprised with the difference in pay between Deloitte & EY for same role. Is Deloitte Advisory paying less compared to other firms? 4.5YOE in Consulting.
Thinking about accepting a software engineering offer for BCG Digital Ventures . can anyone working there tell me about the work culture, learning opportunities, and exit opps . Im also interviewing with Zillow and am deciding wether to wait or take an offer. I’m really intrigued by the idea of building ventures and learning alot on the technical and entrepreneurial sides, but the opportunity to work for a tech unicorn is also very intriguing

Cushy in terms of comp yes. They have good representation and job security.
But if you jumped on Live ATC at a big airport pre-COVID those controllers were dealing with some crowded af places.
I had a project at the postal service years ago. Some people packing mail were making 250k a year ... to pack mail!
Shit and I still charge 45 hours regardless
Lol at calling Air Traffic Control cushy. It is perennially ranked as one of, if not the single most stressful job there is by pretty much every reputable source.
What is trajectory like though? 🤔
That job also has one of the highest suicide rates, unfortunately...
Doesn’t that job have one of the highest suicide rates?
...
I wouldn’t call it cushy. It’s super stressful, mental health issues much higher than norm, hours can be annoying / odd (nights, weekends). And not a lot of room for advancement, especially with only an Associates degree.
If you make a mistake, people die. That is not cushy. Nor can they take random breaks at any moment and post on a mindless app.
Not really. But it is a little bit like herding well behaved cats.
air traffic controller is cushy? i doubt it unless you are assigned to a county airport.
A lot of fed jobs are cushy, great WLB, and have job security
Guys - operational jobs are not cushy. We are the ones with the cushy jobs.
Also, getting the job in the first place is quite competitive
It’s very competitive to get into ATC school. Also you don’t make 100k+ that quick. Depends on cost of living + level + moving salary. Have a friend who makes maybe 72k in PA, but you’d get 100k with experience as well as working at a level 7 airport. Level 7 means atl, nyc, fll, Dallas, lax, etc. It’s cushy when you have enough staff and are only doing “up downs” and don’t have to deal with local traffic, the pilot school wanting to do “touch and go’s” all day long
Uhm Air Traffic Controller is NOT an easy job. & why does him have an associates matter? People do different forms of trades and make money. Traditional education isn’t required for all jobs.
Every shift they work, it alternates 90 mins on and 30 mins off. And this individual works at a busy center but covers the air space between airports
And you make it sound like the airspace between airports is somehow easy. If there’re storms, they have to reroute all the planes, etc.
I find this very hard to believe, air traffic control jobs fall under the GS pay schedule and to make that much money you would have to be in a very high cost location and be pretty senior level. I started as a GS 5 right out of college and made $42K
That is wrong. You can see the 2020 data on the FAA site. They didn’t lie to me lol. https://www.faa.gov/jobs/working_here/benefits/
Bf owns a construction sub contracting co. His project managers have a minimum starting salary of 80k, work 8-4pm, pretty cushy many of his employees didn’t finish college
You think ATC is cushy!?
I’m in federal consulting and gs15s, which are directors, start around 150. If you look at the general schedule it’s actually not nearly as bad as people act like.
Can you ask him/her what it’s like on a stormy fly day? I can’t imagine it to be too fun haha
Have you seen Breaking Bad? Or Summer Rental? Very different representations but shows what can happen.
