Hi fishes! I volunteer with The Art of Good, a creative collective helping small businesses affected by the pandemic. They are seeking a little help from a media professional. Need an SEM POV for a small business looking to change their name and relaunch their brand. This is non-paid. More about giving back while in-between gigs. :) If you can help out or want to learn more, please reach out to me via LinkedIN. Thank you!! www.linkedin.com/in/karenkohn/

That’s great. I had a lady charge me $200 once as her “low rate.” Luckily I was reimbursed $100 but still. They think very highly of themselves. I’d say don’t go above $60.
I pay my “specialist” copay rate. $30
Just remember that therapy is a business model designed to maximize income for the therapist not successfully enable you to move forward on your own
I pay $135 an hour as my insurance doesn’t cover it. It’s via Skype so I can be a bit more flexible with the times etc.
With coverage - $30-$50 depending on therapist and insurance company.
In my experience, a good therapist is an out of network therapist. A great one is worth their weight in gold. I pay $150 for mine, and get reimbursed 65%. NYC.
That’s really good. Most I have seen are about $150 minimum.
E1...in NYC? Name, please. Looking for recos.
Chicago :/ I used zocdoc and definitely recommend the app to find someone.
Does anyone know if you have to get an actual diagnosis for something in order for insurance to cover it?
Also, curious what therapy costs with coverage
What city are you in OP?
There’s also the variable of the type of therapist. If you’re looking for medication, none of those are under $150. But you can always go to a therapist within network / good copay, but get a referral if you end up needing medication and paying out of pocket for that appt, but continue to see your therapist.
My copay was $40. So that’s great. Sure they’re licensed? 😉 Obviously difference between therapist, psychologist, and psychiatrist. Depends on what you need.
Previously have paid $150 OOP for a bad therapist and now have good insurance - psych was $25 copay and therapy (my best yet) does not have a copay
