Hi Infosys guys, I have cleared one technical interview and got email for further round which is planned for tomorrow. Email mentions that this is a telephonic interview, is this supposed to be an HR round discussing salary or another tech round.

I think it's important to note the difference between a lot of job listings, and a lot of job openings. A lot of job listings right now are for a number of reasons that don't involve actually planning to fill a position. It makes trying to find a job in this already horrible job market to be a completely exhausting experience.
Recruiting. Gathering potential hires info
Just looked up why there are up to 50% (!) of ghost job openings out there.
-Increase pool of potential talent to replace current underperformers
-Appear to be growing to investors; appear to be looking for help for the internally overworked
-Gauge salary expectations
-Determine who might be more likely to leave based on posting response
It’s all so manipulative.
It should be illegal—for the deceit to everyone from investors to staff to job seekers.
I'm not 😂. 80+ applications submitted, only two interviews so far. Is the job market actually this bad? Or does my resume need a serious overhaul?

It’s not you, it’s the job market.
I’ve had no luck trying to find full time since being laid off a year ago. 0 responses if I applied to a general LinkedIn job post, 100 percent response rate if it is a targeted application like a place I’ve been following, or someone in my network shared the post or if I know someone who works at the company and I asked them for a referral. That’s why I am more strategic when applying now. However I can’t get past the first interview. That’s another problem.
I am still getting rejection emails from jobs I applied to MONTHS ago - like April. At that point, don't even send the rejection email.
I thankfully got a job after being laid off from my former company, only after a month and a half. I think the big key with this one specifically is that it's in person M-F. I was fully remote before, which I loved, but I let them know it's not a problem.
It's on the other side of town for me and I hate the commute and the traffic but I do think being open to in office definitely helped me get it.
All the remote jobs I applied to either never responded, rejected, or are STILL listed - like they aren't real positions.

Given the 100+ applications for the remote jobs, hopefully the message is clear to employers—workers are still very interested in remote work.
Maybe that’s the point with the remote fake job posts—employers trying to gauge how far they can low ball remote roles and still attract applicants.
Does it all come down to the strength of your portfolio and awards? Aren’t those things that get people hired?
Message hiring managers (creative not HR), share recent and relevant work, express interest and be specific. This worked for myself and my partner for both full time and contract roles. Before that I was cold applying with a few interviews, but no results.
It seems there are not THAT many jobs actually hiring. There are many many posts but I don't think half of them are real. I get hardly any calls on my job applications.
