Hello Gang, I’m on the business side for Walmart right now. Walmart Global Tech recently offered me a role to move to the San Bruno office, but I’d be taking a demotion from L6 to E5. YOE: 8, COMP(200k base, 25% bonus, 100k RSU). Is this competitive in the bay? I have Doordash and Instacart in the pipeline, but no final offers yet.

That’s true, RSM has SA > supervisor > manager so technically it’s one up, but definitely feels lateral
I can only speak to going from Big4 to mid-tier tax. The hours did not get better like I was sold on. Smaller team meant more hands on.
Hmm ok, the recruiter said the consulting arm partner lead was fairly firm on working 40 hours or less a week. To which I was like… :o

if you leave PwC on good terms you can always boomerang back after a year for a nice pay bump
I came to pwc from a mid tier and am going back to a (different) mid tier. Felt that working at big 4 had its perks, but ultimately the culture on my team is way worse than my experience at mid tier.
I would avoid that transition and keep looking
