OP - make the money, take some different experience. You will always have the Big 4 who will want you back. You can come back if you want the client service again. Over the next 2-3 years, you will cumulatively make about 60-80k more. That's a sizeable chunk.
Additionally, if you don't like what you do in the industry, look for opportunities to move in the organization. Good luck!
I’d take it. Good increase to get out and life/work balance will be life changing.
@EY 1 you mean like can I promote to manager? Without a doubt.
Make M1 money as a S2 with work/life balance and (I’m assuming) fewer hours? Assuming this is a role/company you’re interested in, why haven’t you accepted the offer already?
Meh, if you like making/keeping people happy through the quality of your work just think of how much more invested you’d be if you had a vested interest in the company
@D1 M1 money in my city is like 75-80K so this would be more than that. I think my biggest hesitation is that I like the team and client serving aspect a lot. This job just takes too much out of me.
There’s a post just a few above yours that is a senior who left right before making manager. Now sounds like stuck at senior roles because in industry people don’t move as quickly (if at all). So think about if you want to jump to industry as a manager in 2 years, or stay as a senior in industry for the next 5
Title doesn’t mean that much. If you’re making that much more than a manager and it’s a role you want, it’s absolutely worth it.
What’s the level of your new role? Sounds like a good opportunity.
New role is senior level at F500 in Midwest.
The question is can you make it Manager?
