The first step is to be honest with yourself and admit the ways YOU contributed to the breakdown of the marriage. While not healthy to dwell unnecessarily on the past, coming to grips with the part you played (you cant control anyone but yourself) and the lessons you’ve learned are important for making peace with the situation, moving forward, and working to prevent a similar situation in the future. This is key if you plan to stay in biglaw and/or you plan to get married again. Please seek therapy if you haven’t yet.

Law in general is not only a demanding profession but also ripe with toxic characters that can influence non-work life. There’s usually fault on all sides in a divorce but a job where you spend most of your waking life is going to impact you one way or another. If you stay in law (even in house to some extent) it’s important to remember that’s just the reality of the profession and to work around it.
