What made you snicker, chuckle, chortle, giggle or laugh today? Quiet to maniacal, have at it. To get the obvious off the list... paycheck, hours, unlimited time off, budgets, looming deadlines, and pets on zoom/teams meetings.
I have bad Sunday blues. I feel like I should just take xanax and go to bed. I am in a bad covid cycle of binge eating, starving, drinking too much, then being rigidly “good” for a few days then spiraling into the cycle again. I feel doom and can’t get off my couch. I went on vacation w family and had a good time last week. Back home alone I feel in a funk again. Funkier than Cold Medina. Just wanted to share with someone.
Market Prediction: Holiday Cards are going to be bought and sent in droves this Holiday Season. Photograph services like Shutterfly, etc. are going to see surges of families uploading photos to cards. It’s going to be a USPS Christmas 🎄
I think if someone has served the country, they should be granted Veteran's Day off as a paid holiday. Not forced to use their accrued PTO, or sick day. It's a holiday they earned for the rest of their lives. Call me crazy but this makes sense to me.
Happy Cinco De Mayo! Did you know that it's NOT an important holiday in Mexico? The More You Know!
PwC 🐟 my rewards summary page shows I have holiday balance of 8 hours. This means that I messed up and didn't charge holiday hours properly last year right? How can I best use this 8 hours now? Cont.
If I put in my two weeks and the last week is PTO I already had planned (at an unlimited PTO firm) will they just tell me they're not paying me for the last week?
Ladies, what are you planning on wearing to the holiday party? I never know what to wear to 'festive' work events.
I'm on vacation, completely removed for the daily hustle; enjoying my time off. My wife called with an urgent request: she needs help with a deck that's due on Friday.
Have 12 days of PTO left for the year and have already taken plenty of staycations. Assuming all precautions are taken, is it still heavily frowned upon to take a flight somewhere outdoorsy?
Best place to go for a solo vacation?
What’s the best way to slip out for an interview? I unfortunately don’t have PTO to run on right now.
KPMG 🐠🐠🐠 Im just noticing that 2018 Holiday Calendar have “Year-End Holidays” but for 2019, we only have the 24th and 25th off. Do we only have those 2 days for December? Thanks!
Ive been on high intensity projects since June of 2020 and I am so grateful but I am exhausted....I need time off, but my current team seems really intense and doesn’t take well to people taking off. What can I do?
I can't stop being angry and disappointed in myself. I'm on PTO and decided to take care a few of the household chores. I multi-task all of the time and can't help it. I forgot that I turned on the water to fill up the ultility sink in the basement and ran back upstairs to do something else. Well 2 hours later as I turn on the shower, I wonder why it's not getting hot. Then I remembered the basement. Obviously it overflowed and I had .25 inches of water on the floor (concrete) Cont
I always get “jokingly” hassled for taking time off. I put my PTO in 6 months ago, sorry you decided to schedule a meeting during these three specific days I’m gone🤷🏽♀️
Haven’t taken a nice vacation in a while. What’s a good place (domestic or international) to plan a 7-10 day trip? Like hiking, scenic views, diversity in food options, etc. Was thinking Torres Del Paine national park
Anyone taken time off to just create? Focus on your portfolio and health? I feel like I’m a content-rut, but I want to challenge myself. I miss the rigor of school.
Healthcare fish community - my firm is looking for a SME in the healthcare Provider IT space for a near term contract opportunity. Please DM me if this is of interest. TIA!
Hi Fish... looking for ideas! Career pivot from ERP to? TLDR bored of running erp programs and not sure motivated to chase ap/partner in this space. cont
For those applying/being referred to KPMG, how long can it take to start hearing from recruiters or managers regarding interviews for the roles you were referred to/applied to? I want to leave D very badly.
Is anyone familiar with Blue Cross Blue Shield and their consulting side? I’ve been seeing a lot of postings specifically in the Chicago area and some really interest me and would love to learn more.
EY PAS vs PwC Workforce Transformation? Rep, culture, types of projects, etc. Entry-level
I want to switch role as an AWS developer. But I have just learnt the things on my own in AWS. In interview I am asked questions based on real scenarios on which I am not having any experience. Any suggestions? Even if I do hands on on services like Linux academy or quiklabs, it would not help. (AWS cloud migration experience one can get if worked on a real project). Please help.
I moved from B4 to industry accounting about 5 years ago. I currently work as a corporate accounting manager at a software company. I recently hired an big 4 audit senior right out of public and I’m struggling to get him up to speed. Does anyone have an example of reasonable vs unreasonable expectations for a senior accountant moving to industry after 2-3 years at B4 audit?
Has anybody done the RSM excel case study for their TAS senior role and can provide some input on what to expect? RSM
Partners or whomever can help me understand about billing and hours. To keep things simple, let’s say you only have one staff to work 1,700 billable hours a year on a $60k salary and you have only one job that and the rate charged to the client is $300/hour and an projected hours budget of 1,700 hours. So ideally you would have revenue of $510k. If the staff takes less time partners make less money and if they take more time partners make more money while the staff keeps the same salary?
Infosys reached to me today offering a new role… after some research, not interested. PTO: too low (10 days), 401k 3%, Comp. and bonuses seem low from employee feedbacks. Cannot take a role with higher responsibilities and low comp and PTO lol
Would you jump to industry for an automated testing role? Assuming a 15% raise and better work life balance. Wondering if that business function is a good one to get into
ConsultingHumor’s Instagram page (364k followers) did a massive compensation survey for top consulting firms in the US and internationally. Several thousand respondents with base and bonus salary for all the top (and some smaller) firms. Can be used when negotiating your next raise or to see if you want to jump ship to another firm. Saw a job posting for “Global Business Strategy & Operations Manager, Go-to-Market”. What level should I expect this to be at and also breakdown of total comp? Thank you.
Please, don’t call us visa holders ‘resident aliens’ anymore. Call us ‘extra-terrestrial residents’, thank you.
Will potentially move to client side in coming month. First H1B expiration due this year. When is the right time to talk about my GC application?
Any B4 to MBB experienced hires (excluding MBA recruiting) here? Would love to hear about any advice you have about applying.
Anyone here able to help with what the Mid level salary range in Miami would be? Also senior if possible, thank you in advance
I got selected for interview stage at a FAANG... Even before interviewing, the recruiter is asking for my comp expectations. I dont want to throw out numbers and ranges, but looking for advice here on how do i structure my response to let them know i would like to have a competitive salary as per industry standards (i know for a fact that their base salaries are 30 to 40% more than what i make now ($137k). The reason i dont want to let them know what i make now is so that they dont lowball me
