Trying to find ideas/frameworks that will change mindset, tips, tools and heuristics for self organization, management, soft skills in a professional setting etc

Is studying for (and hopefully passing) the CFA a good alternative to an MBA for career advancement?

Currently in M&A advisory. Not looking to move into research or portfolio management, just seeking to add an "advanced degree".

I would love to go back to school, but cost and my location - not near any major schools - have kept me from applying. I have considered Kellogg's eMBA in Miami.

Been working on mostly (about 70%) public sector policy and strategy at Big 4 for most of my career. Often go up against MBB on RFPs and have a decent win rate. I'm a recent grad who accepted an entry-level full-time job offer with Capital One. I knew that MBB and other consulting firms rarely ever negotiate salary with new grads, so I didn't with Capital One as well. Was that a mistake? What were the likelihoods that they would have raised my salary? I had no other competing offers at the time

I know when I was in public, I was hesitant from 1/15 until 4/15 but wasn’t sure if this is still the norm? I have been in management for the past 8 years and part of large corporations.
