I wouldn’t suggest studying during busy season but if that’s what you have to do then I would invest in a meal prep service to give you that time back
I set a schedule and MAKE TIME for non work/non study time. I have Saturdays for that.
I TRY to meal prep sunday mornings (and other errands/chores) and study Sunday afternoon.
I block my work calendar off 5:30pm onwards. If a client or a team member emails me after that, most likely not something that they need an answer by 6pm anyway.
If im unable to make meal preps on sunday.. i try to pick food that i dont have to watch while cooking (ex. Baking in the oven). Ive also tried hello fresh so i dont have to think about cooking. It gets expensive but you can cancel and try a different service until you run out of discount codes again. Very last resort is just order door dash or buy hot meals from the grocery to eat at home
I want to commend your approach for staying healthy and human. I’m in the process of launching a new company with this exact same language. 😍
My observation is the profession doesn’t support humanity. There’s way too much doing, not enough being.
Being a whole human looks different for everyone. So the question for you is what makes you feel alive? Time with others, nature, space to be/process, travel, reading non-accounting topics.
I’d stay out ahead of anxiety. Check out “The Mind Explained” on Netflix. Season one has an episode specific to anxiety. Create a study plan that is realistic. In my years of coaching candidates, I noticed they lay out best case scenario plans. And then when the unexpected arises, which it always does, they get derailed.
Hold steady. This is more than a test of intellect. It can test you emotionally. You’ve got this!
