I still very much use LinkedIn recruiter every day, I would say it’s 75% of my hires. You don’t have to be active on LinkedIn, when we look at profiles in the recruiter platform we can’t even see any activities (posts, comments, likes, etc), just have a profile that you keep updated (nothing crazy just paste your resume bullets into your profile)
Wait a minute, you’re a lead recruiter and you’re not sure if having an updated LinkedIn profile is still relevant and you never check for a profile before you interview someone? What kind of recruiting do you do and how do you find candidates?
Agreed. I’m shocked that a recruiter would think it’s ok to not have a linked in these days. Maybe if you’re hiring for manual labor jobs, but that’s about it
I’m convinced it’s the only way to get a job right now. Applying directly doesn’t really seem to be working, neither does applying via LI or other online platforms. It’s your profile showing up in a recruiter’s search and then deciding your fit the profile well enough to message you and ask if you’re interested.
