Hello!
I finished my final round(s) for a TAM position at Google (GCP) last week and was told by my recruiter that my feedback was great and that I made a solid impression on the team and am "firmly in the running". I was supposed to hear back this week (according to the recruiter) but he just told me that it's still in the process and that I'll have to wait for another week or so.
Is this common at Google ? I have heard they are notorious for being really slow with their hiring process.
The new company I’m at now sent me an email from an email address that was HR@companyName.careers saying I was accepted for the position. They gave me paperwork to fill out and sign to accept the position
I fill out the paperwork and send it back to them and it goes through… then a few days later I go back to the email to say something else and I get this…?
Then today I got a check from the company In the mail to setup my home office, and it’s signed by someone I’ve never met before or heard of…?
What…..

Can you share the contact details of the recruiter?
@EY2. WTF are you smoking? International experience will only help build credibility with client, especially multi-nationals, and build business. If 2 firms walk in the room, and 1 says they know their business from both a US and UK viewpoint, and the other can’t, who’s going to win?
SEC clients are global, have global needs, and need global insights.

@EY1 if things work out 😉 it was just a LinkedIn inquiry so I'd be surprised if anything comes of it
You’re going to have to be more specific. There’s a ton of information on why you should get intentional business experience on google. This a no-brainer question.
International experience doesn't benefit you in your career as much as people think. The bottom line in a public accounting career is bringing in clients. Let's say you do an international rotation as a manager and come back a year later - there's no guarantee you'll be on your same team, have the same clients, or be in the same position. The firm moves on and sometimes people get left behind in those situations. If your goal isn't really making partner, then it can be an awesome personal experience but I wouldn't look to international experience as a career builder unless you're looking to relocate, move, etc. Much of any skills you build abroad won't correlate much back home on SEC clients.
